Location: San Antonio, TX (Hybrid – 4 days in office, Fridays WFH)
Compensation: $130,000–$145,000 base + ~15% annual bonus + equity
Reports To: SVP / Head of Finance
Our client is a high-growth, equity-backed organization generating approximately $100M in revenue and operating with an entrepreneurial, execution-focused culture. The company is at an exciting inflection point, actively investing in new products and services, expanding existing offerings, and pursuing M&A opportunities with a clear goal of tripling EBITDA over the next five years.
This is a business where finance has a real seat at the table. The leadership team values data-driven decision-making, and the finance function plays a critical role in shaping strategy rather than simply reporting results. The company is also undergoing a data and finance transformation, providing a rare opportunity for this hire to influence systems, tools, and processes that will support the next phase of growth.
For the right person, this role offers meaningful visibility to executive leadership, exposure to board-level discussions, and long-term upside through equity participation as the company executes on its growth strategy.
The FP&A Manager will serve as a strategic and hands-on finance leader, acting as the second-in-command to the Head of Finance and a trusted partner to executive leadership. This is a working manager role with ownership over financial modeling, planning, forecasting, and performance analysis.
This individual will own the corporate financial model, lead budgeting and forecasting processes, support strategic initiatives (including M&A), and help improve financial transparency across the organization. The role also includes helping shape the company’s finance systems and reporting stack as part of an ongoing data transformation effort.
Key responsibilities include:
This role is well suited for a finance professional who combines strong technical modeling skills with real business intuition. You enjoy being close to the numbers, understand how a business operates end-to-end, and are comfortable explaining financial insights directly to senior leadership.
You are confident without being arrogant, comfortable pushing back when necessary, and focused on execution rather than formality. You thrive in environments with ambiguity, limited playbooks, and evolving priorities, and you enjoy building structure where it doesn’t yet exist.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants ownership, visibility, and a long-term path toward becoming a senior finance leader as the company grows.

We're partnering with a family-owned, growth-stage construction services company (~$45M revenue, ~300 employees) that is intentionally professionalizing its finance function as it prepares to double in size over the next 5–7 years.
The company is intentionally transitioning from a family-run operation to a professionalized, mid-market organization, while preserving its strong culture and long-tenured team.
This is a true build-and-lead Controller role. You’ll step in as the company’s first dedicated Controller, owning the accounting function end-to-end, developing the team, strengthening controls, and modernizing processes while partnering closely with the CFO and ownership.
Why this role stands out:
• Real authority and visibility
• Opportunity to elevate people, processes, and systems
• Long-tenured team with a strong family culture
• Flexible, trust-based environment (not a clock-watching culture)
• Leadership views this hire as an investment in growth, not a cost
About the Controller:

My client is a growing, family-owned organization in a project-based industry that is intentionally transitioning into a more professionalized, mid-market company. With approximately $45M in revenue today and plans to double over the next 5–7 years, the company is investing in people, processes, and systems to support long-term growth. The culture is collaborative and trust-based, with many long-tenured employees and leadership that values accountability without micromanagement.
Why This Opportunity
About the Accounts Payable & Cash Cycle Specialist:
This is not a clerical AP role. The Accounts Payable & Cash Cycle Specialist owns the end-to-end AP and cash cycle, acting as a key operator within the finance function. You’ll partner closely with Project Managers, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure accurate job costing, protect against lien risk, optimize cash flow, and modernize outdated AP processes.
This role is designed for someone who wants real ownership, enjoys problem-solving, and takes pride in improving how work gets done.
What the Accounts Payable & Cash Cycle Specialist will do:
About You (Accounts Payable & Cash Cycle Specialist)
You’re someone who wants more than repetitive AP processing. You like owning a function, asking “why,” and improving systems that don’t work well.
You thrive in environments where trust, accountability, and communication matter, and where your ideas and initiative are welcomed.
This role is a strong fit if you:
This role is not a fit if you prefer purely clerical work, resist change, or avoid ownership when issues arise.
