We're Hiring: FP&A Manager

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager, San Antonio Texas

Location: San Antonio, TX (Hybrid – 4 days in office, Fridays WFH)
Compensation: $130,000–$145,000 base + ~15% annual bonus + equity
Reports To: SVP / Head of Finance

About the Company

Our client is a high-growth, equity-backed organization generating approximately $100M in revenue and operating with an entrepreneurial, execution-focused culture. The company is at an exciting inflection point, actively investing in new products and services, expanding existing offerings, and pursuing M&A opportunities with a clear goal of tripling EBITDA over the next five years.

This is a business where finance has a real seat at the table. The leadership team values data-driven decision-making, and the finance function plays a critical role in shaping strategy rather than simply reporting results. The company is also undergoing a data and finance transformation, providing a rare opportunity for this hire to influence systems, tools, and processes that will support the next phase of growth.

For the right person, this role offers meaningful visibility to executive leadership, exposure to board-level discussions, and long-term upside through equity participation as the company executes on its growth strategy.

About the FP&A Manager

The FP&A Manager will serve as a strategic and hands-on finance leader, acting as the second-in-command to the Head of Finance and a trusted partner to executive leadership. This is a working manager role with ownership over financial modeling, planning, forecasting, and performance analysis.

This individual will own the corporate financial model, lead budgeting and forecasting processes, support strategic initiatives (including M&A), and help improve financial transparency across the organization. The role also includes helping shape the company’s finance systems and reporting stack as part of an ongoing data transformation effort.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Owning, maintaining, and enhancing the corporate three-statement financial model
  • Leading budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes
  • Developing strategic models to support growth initiatives and M&A activity
  • Forecasting short- and medium-term cash positions and liquidity
  • Delivering variance analysis, lookbacks, and actionable insights to leadership
  • Leading results discussions with executive leadership
  • Supporting board and investor reporting
  • Maintaining debt covenant calculations and lender-related analysis
  • Partnering with IT and leadership on finance systems, reporting tools, and data strategy
  • Evaluating and helping select FP&A and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, DataRails, Vena)
  • Mentoring and developing junior finance talent as the team grows

About You (Ideal Candidate Profile)

This role is well suited for a finance professional who combines strong technical modeling skills with real business intuition. You enjoy being close to the numbers, understand how a business operates end-to-end, and are comfortable explaining financial insights directly to senior leadership.

You are confident without being arrogant, comfortable pushing back when necessary, and focused on execution rather than formality. You thrive in environments with ambiguity, limited playbooks, and evolving priorities, and you enjoy building structure where it doesn’t yet exist.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants ownership, visibility, and a long-term path toward becoming a senior finance leader as the company grows.

Qualifications needed for the FP&A Manager:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • 5–7+ years of progressive finance or corporate finance experience
  • Strong three-statement financial modeling experience (non-negotiable)
  • Advanced Excel skills; ability to build complex models from scratch
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to operate independently and solve ambiguous problems
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of how financial decisions impact operations
  • Corporate finance background; investment banking experience highly preferred
  • Experience in a high-growth, entrepreneurial, or PE-backed environment a plus
  • Exposure to M&A modeling and valuation
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools is great but Excel is King here!
  • Familiarity with modern data platforms or finance system implementations would be a benefit!

Compensation: $150K–$175K base + bonus

Reports to: CFO

We're partnering with a family-owned, growth-stage construction services company (~$45M revenue, ~300 employees) that is intentionally professionalizing its finance function as it prepares to double in size over the next 5–7 years.

The company is intentionally transitioning from a family-run operation to a professionalized, mid-market organization, while preserving its strong culture and long-tenured team.

This is a true build-and-lead Controller role. You’ll step in as the company’s first dedicated Controller, owning the accounting function end-to-end, developing the team, strengthening controls, and modernizing processes while partnering closely with the CFO and ownership.

About the Controller:
This is a newly created Controller role and a key leadership hire. This hire represents a strategic decision to level up leadership, systems, and structure as the business scales.

Ownership views this role as a long-term investment in growth, not a transactional backfill.

What You’ll Own as the Controller

  • Build and formalize internal controls and GAAP-compliant processes
  • Oversee tax coordination with external advisors (sales, payroll, income taxes)
  • Drive process improvement, automation, and systems scalability

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Partner closely with the CFO and ownership during a high-growth phase

Who This Role Is For

  • A Controller who enjoys building and improving, not just maintaining
  • A strong people leader who can coach, mentor, and elevate a team
  • Someone comfortable professionalizing processes in a family-owned environment
  • A leader who wants real ownership, visibility, and long-term runway

Background needed for the Controller

  • Multiple medical plan options
  • PTO: Officially 3 weeks, functionally flexible
  • Trust-based, non–clock-watching culture

We're Hiring: Accounts Payable & Cash Cycle Specialist

Accounts Payable & Cash Cycle Specialist, Katy Texas

Accounts Payable & Cash Cycle Specialist

Reports To: Controller

Compensation: 65k+bonus

Location: Katy, TX

My client is a growing, family-owned organization in a project-based industry that is intentionally transitioning into a more professionalized, mid-market company. With approximately $45M in revenue today and plans to double over the next 5–7 years, the company is investing in people, processes, and systems to support long-term growth. The culture is collaborative and trust-based, with many long-tenured employees and leadership that values accountability without micromanagement.

Why This Opportunity

  • Real ownership and visibility within the finance team
  • Company in growth mode with leadership committed to leveling up
  • Quarterly bonuses ($1K–$2K historically)
  • Competitive benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401k with match)
  • Trust-based, flexible culture
  • Opportunity to shape how AP operates, not just inherit a clerical role

About the Accounts Payable & Cash Cycle Specialist:

This is not a clerical AP role. The Accounts Payable & Cash Cycle Specialist owns the end-to-end AP and cash cycle, acting as a key operator within the finance function. You’ll partner closely with Project Managers, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure accurate job costing, protect against lien risk, optimize cash flow, and modernize outdated AP processes.

This role is designed for someone who wants real ownership, enjoys problem-solving, and takes pride in improving how work gets done.

What the Accounts Payable & Cash Cycle Specialist will do:

  • Own the full AP lifecycle from invoice intake through payment
  • Resolve three-way match discrepancies (PO, receipt, invoice)
  • Proactively chase approvals to ensure timely and accurate cost recognition
  • Partner with Supply Chain to correct upstream purchasing issues
  • Support strategic payment timing and DPO optimization
  • Structure weekly check and ACH runs aligned with cash forecasts
  • Monitor and mitigate lien risk, including enforcing lien waivers
  • Assess current AP workflows and drive process improvements
  • Support AP automation and modernization initiatives
  • Provide input on payables and procurement policies

About You (Accounts Payable & Cash Cycle Specialist)

You’re someone who wants more than repetitive AP processing. You like owning a function, asking “why,” and improving systems that don’t work well.

You thrive in environments where trust, accountability, and communication matter, and where your ideas and initiative are welcomed.

This role is a strong fit if you:

  • Take pride in functional ownership and accountability
  • Enjoy improving and modernizing processes
  • Communicate confidently with vendors and internal teams
  • Are adaptable and comfortable in a family-owned environment

This role is not a fit if you prefer purely clerical work, resist change, or avoid ownership when issues arise.

Experience Needed for the Accounts Payable & Cash Cycle Specialist

  • 3–5 years of full-cycle Accounts Payable experience (3-Way Match required)
  • Construction, manufacturing, or project-based industry experience strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of job costing and margin impact
  • Proven ability to own processes end-to-end
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups)
  • ERP experience such as Foundation, Sage, Viewpoint, Procore, NetSuite, or Sage Intacct is a plus
  • Degree not required — demonstrated experience and capability matter more

Construction Billing Analyst, Katy Texas

Construction Billing Analyst

Location: Katy, TX

Compensation: 65k+bonus
Reports To: Controller / CFO

About the Company

My client is a family-owned, growth-stage construction services company with approximately $45M in revenue today and a plan to double over the next 5–7 years, the company is intentionally professionalizing its finance operations to support scale—without losing its strong, people-first culture.

The billing function plays a direct and critical role in cash flow velocity, making this a high-impact seat within the organization.

Why This Opportunity

  • High-visibility role with direct impact on cash flow
  • Growing organization investing in people and process
  • Strong leadership partnership with Controller and CFO
  • Long-tenured team and trust-based culture
  • Opportunity to own and improve the billing function, not just execute tasks

About the Construction Billing Analyst

The Construction Billing Analyst owns the “last mile” of revenue realization. This role serves as the financial bridge between Project Management and external clients (General Contractors and Owners), ensuring work performed is accurately documented, contract-compliant, and billed on time.

This is a high-velocity, deadline-driven role that requires equal parts persistence and professionalism. Success directly impacts how quickly the company gets paid.

What will the Construction Billing Analyst do?

  • You've got GRIT: You are willing to do what it takes to get accurate billings submitted on time
  • You take Ownership: You view unbilled revenue as a problem to solve, not a handoff

  • Partner proactively with Project Managers to determine percent complete and validate against the Schedule of Values (SOV).
  • Prepare and submit AIA G702/G703 pay applications in strict compliance with contract requirements.
  • Upload and manage pay applications through client portals such as Textura, Procore, and GC Pay, as well as the internal ERP system.
  • Manage the collection and submission of conditional and unconditional lien waivers to release payment.
  • Proactively confirm receipt and acceptance of pay applications with GC/Owner accounting teams within 48 hours of submission.
  • Act as the internal timekeeper, holding Project Managers accountable to billing deadlines.
  • Identify and resolve rejections, redlines, compliance issues, or mathematical discrepancies quickly to avoid payment delays.
  • Flex work hours during monthly billing crunch periods (typically the 15th–25th) to ensure all billable work is submitted.
  • Partner with the Controller/CFO to improve billing workflows, documentation standards, and cross-functional communication.

About You, The Construction Billing Analyst

You take billing personally. An unbilled dollar is not “someone else’s problem.”

You are organized, persistent, and comfortable holding both internal and external stakeholders accountable—while maintaining strong relationships. You thrive in construction environments where details matter, deadlines are real, and cash flow depends on execution.

Experience Needed for the Role

Required

  • 3+ years of billing experience in commercial or industrial construction
  • Strong working knowledge of AIA G702/G703, SOVs, retainage, and lien requirements
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
