We're Hiring: Accounting Manager | San Antonio, Texas

Accounting Manager | Manufacturing & Distribution | Compensation: 120k +bonus

I'm partnering with a growing manufacturing and distribution company in San Antonio that is looking to add an Accounting Manager to a finance team that's finally reaching an exciting inflection point.

This isn't a "keep the lights on" accounting role.

The company has spent the last few years strengthening the team, upgrading talent, improving processes, and positioning itself for growth. They're now looking for an Accounting Manager who can step in as a true business partner, leader, and problem solver—someone who can own critical accounting operations while helping the organization scale.

What You'll Own as the Accounting Manager

You'll serve as the operational leader of the accounting function, overseeing:

  • Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams
  • Treasury and cash management activities
  • Month-end close processes
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls
  • Audit preparation and support
  • ERP process improvement and optimization (NetSuite environment)
  • Process development, workflow improvements, and automation initiatives
  • Cross-functional collaboration with operations, sales, procurement, and leadership

This role combines day-to-day accounting leadership with longer-term projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Why The Accounting Manager Role Is Different

The Accounting Director isn't looking for someone who simply knows debits and credits.

They're looking for someone who:

  • Takes ownership without needing constant direction
  • Can navigate a fast-paced, high-accountability environment
  • Has the confidence to challenge others when necessary
  • Can work effectively with strong personalities across the organization
  • Listens first, understands the business, and then drives solutions
  • Sees inefficiencies and proactively fixes them

The right person will quickly become a trusted thought partner, helping tackle everything from process improvements and ERP enhancements to acquisitions, integrations, and operational scaling projects.

What Success Looks Like for the Accounting Manager:

Within your first year, you'll help:

  • Strengthen accounting controls and balance sheet processes
  • Improve AP and AR workflows
  • Increase visibility into key financial activities across the business
  • Support major strategic initiatives and potential acquisitions
  • Create efficiencies that allow the finance organization to scale alongside company growth

Ideal Background of the Accounting Manager:

We're open to a few different profiles:

  • Current Accounting Managers looking for a strong long-term home
  • Senior Accountants ready for their first management opportunity
  • Accounting professionals from manufacturing, distribution, industrial, energy, or similarly fast-paced environments

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience working within a robust ERP environment (NetSuite is a plus)
  • Manufacturing, inventory, or distribution experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial controls
  • CPA is welcomed but not required.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary up to approximately $125,000
  • Annual bonus opportunity
  • Comprehensive medical benefits
  • 401(k)
  • Three weeks PTO
  • Long-term growth opportunities within a growing organization

Location

San Antonio, TX

This is an in-office leadership position. The company values collaboration and visibility, and the Accounting Manager will play a key role in partnering with teams throughout the organization.

If you're someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, enjoys building processes, and wants to have a meaningful impact on a growing business, please apply!
